What is minimum objective/magnification do I need to judge antlers in the 2 scenarios? Assuming I use a Zeiss/Swarovski/Leica/Leupold equivalent higher end glass.
I was having trouble judging antlers and counting points @100 yards in the 30 min past sunset via my vortex LH 3-15x42. My 10x42 Zeiss binocular did a MUCH better job. While price is no limit, its on a lightweight gun build and I'd like to keep it under 24oz which limits alot but not all of the high end / heavier ones. i'm fine with 1", only shooting max EVER to 500 yards at the range. I'm looking to replace with
Trying to convince myself that 12x is fine and i know thats all that needed for a shot ( i can't recall ever taking a shot above 12x) but what is a good size for judging/counting antlers and points?
