I am looking to upgrade my scope for my hunting rifle. I am trying to stay in the 600-800ish price range. I have been looking mainly at the Nikon Black X1000 6-24 and also the Zeiss Conquest hd5 5-25 which has been currently on sale. I have looked through the Nikon quite a bit and have been quite impressed. Does anyone have any experience with either? Or is there any other scopes I should be looking into? Thanks!

I know outside your price range, but I am a fan of Leupold. The VX-6HD is phenominal. Unfortunately they don’t make a VX-5HD in your mag range, maximum is 3X-15X.

You do not mention if you're a knob turner or a set it and forget it kinda guy, where and how you hunt (I'm thinking shots over 200 as you mention 5-25 and 6-24) so.....
In your price range you can go with:
Swarovski Z3
Steiner GS3
Athlon Midas BTR or Ares BTR (depending on if you prefer 1st or 2nd FP)
Hawke Frontier, Sidewiner or Endurance
Meopta Meopro
Leupold VX-5HD
There's many great options. Please feel free to give us a call, 516-217-1000, to discuss what would be best for you

I have put 100's of rounds under each of the 3 Nikon BLACK X1000 scopes that I have. 2 on 6.5 cm's and 1 on a .308. Love the scope. Great features, glass and most importunely, reliability and repeatability. I have taken all 3 to just over 700 yards and banged 10 inch plates with no issues at all. Best of all is the price, from $500-$650 depending on if you want the illuminated reticle option. Another scope that you might be interested in but not know about yet is Nikon's newly released for 2018, The BLACK FX1000 line. This has many of the same great features as the X1000 but with some turret upgrades, First Focal Plane and a zero stop. With the same magnification choicces for between $650-$800. The FX1000 should be out in retailers in about 3 weeks. I helped out in the Nikon booth at SHOT Show and showing the FX1000 brought notihng but wow comment's. For the price, these 2 choices are pretty tough to beat. Drop me a note if you have any question's. Hopefully one of this sites Sponsor's can help you out with the purchase?
