Built my son a custom shorty. BAT Bumblebee action, Manners EH4 stock, and 18in Proof carbon fiber barrel. Chambered in 6.5 Creed. Gun will finish under 8lbs depending on the optic. He’s a good shot. We hunt a mix of timber and open food plots. Shots primarily under 100yds…but we have the potential to get out to 500yds.

Trying to find him a MPVO with exposed turrets, and a mil based reticle. He’s ready to learn holdovers and how to measure his hits through the scope.

I’m considering a Credo 2-10x32, Leupy MK5, or a March.

He needs something with good eye relief, wide FOV, and good tracking.

Any recommendations for a setup like this?

I would grab a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42mm. 20oz. Zero stop. Illumination. Compact. Hard to beat them for the cost and reliability.

I actually have a NF 2.5-10x42 on my 270. I’m suprised it’s lighter than the Credo I was looking at. SFP vs FFP but at such low Mag FFP is probably not needed.
