Opinions or experience with Contessa

I’ve been hearing good things about Contessa and wanted to see if can get some firsthand feedback on the brand and their accessories namely rails and rings.

Their pic rails for Tikka are very nice. That’s what I’ve run.

The Contessa Light Weight rings are a bargain at $85 and made from 7075 as far as i can dig up. My only complaint is they are a bit tall for use on a rail. They are double lug so they wont fit a Weaver rail, it must be true picatinny.

These are 1" lows.

Rail is about the same height as a Murphy and the scope has a 42mm OBJ. Still has enough room for a 50mm OBJ.

The base clamp is also spring loaded so when you loosen the screws the rings remove easily from the rail. Package said made in Italy too. I got mine at EuroOptics during a sale. I would have gotten another set in 30mm but they are taller than i like so i went with TPS XTR rings. Occasionally MidwayUSA has TPS on sale for about $100. On my Murphy rails a .820" tall ring will handle a 42mm OBj no problem and a .860" will handle a 50mm just about perfectly. Contessa 30mm low are .900 iirc. Thats just taller than i need for my application.

Well worth $84 bucks
