Have a pair of 8x30 Swarovski I got 20 plus years ago. I was thinking about getting pair of Zeiss conquest had 10x42. I know it’s not really comparing apples to apples. Curious if the conquest would be better as far as clarity and magnification. Thanks for any opinions

I have a set of Zeiss Conquest Binos and Swaro SLC. There is no way the Conquest compares to my Swaro’s. If I am whitetail hunting and only glassing short distances especially during archery season I use the lighter Zeiss. All other times the SLC’s are on my chest.

My dad has a similar vintage of 8x30 SLC and they hold up really well against the latest SLC 10x42 after a week side by side with both. At best it would be a lateral move to conquest 10x42 if not a slight downgrade.

Send your Swarovski’s back for factory service during the offseason and they will come back like new.

Agreed. Those older wb were really great clear glass and super durable.

I only sold mine due to my prescription needing more eye relief.

Hang on to them and add whatever capability needed ie 10x42 etc. but the conquest line won’t match the optical performance of what you have. Imo.

Swar EL, slc, NL, higher end ZEISS or meopta are a few that come to mind.
