So I have a Tikka t3x lite in 6.5prc the barrel is slow as heck (2700fps) so I wanted to throw on a Proof Barrel.

Instead of buying a new stock I was wondering if anyone has ever opened up the barrel channel on a plastic tikka stock to a sendero profile?

is it feasible? Any tips or advice if you have done it?

Thanks!

That’s a sweet setup, might have to look for one of those. Much more effective than the dremel im sure!

Dremel works fine, just go slow so the plastic stays as cool as possible, finish with a socket with sandpaper wrapper around it to smooth out the roughness and lines from the Dremel. If you throw the action in with the barrel, you can trace around it to know the starting point of your cutting lines.

I like to use these

60 grit sandpaper around a deep well socket.
Smooth it up with 100.
Trim the plastic whiskers with a razor knife.
Razor knife for the nubs in the channel as well.
Spray paint of your choice to finish.
