Opening receiver mount holes

Looking at buying a bolt rifle that has #6 mounting holes.
Is there enough meat there to open them up to a #8?
What’s a typical charge for doing this?

Was looking at a Christensen Ridgeline. You'd like to think that the CNC machining would have the holes indexed properly, but that's mass production I guess.
My NF NXS is a heavy scope and was wanting a bit more holding power. May just go with a rail then.

This I can understand. Rarely are the holes WAY off.

Another option for recoil proofing is to have the base pinned to the front ring. You drill one hole and drive in a taper pin or fitted pin.

Typical charge is $25-35 per hole to have a receiver drilled and tapped, any size.

Off center holes isn't very common on new actions. Used to be more common, but CNC has improved things tremendously.
