Is optics planet legit? What are other online retailers for optics?

Many folks here recommend s&s, NY cameraland etc. I would rather support these outlets (i usually shop small / local when I can), but just curious about your experiences with some of these online retailers who seem to show good prices

I’ve bought from OpticsPlanet with no issues. I’ve used PredatorOptics. He does get good prices. Never tried CameraLand but it’s mentioned a lot on this site.

Have bought many times from optics planet. If you put something in your cart or wishlist they will start sending more discount codes for a few more bucks off. The only bad thing is they sometimes show items in stock that are not. Turns into a waiting game

I've done business with all listed. Optics planet will always act like they have everything in stock but often they will take much longer to ship. Euro and cameraland will actually call you if there's an issue.....and you're talking to one of just a few employees and possibly even the owners themselves.

As a long standing supporting vendor here it's always our pleasure to assist the members here. Please feel free to give us a call, 516-217-1000, so we can assist you personally with different available options and special opportunities .
Always better to support a family owned business rather than big box store, plus we, and the other supporting vendors, help keep the lights on here as well as other forums.

They’ve always been helpful for me. Highly recommend.

Cameraland is great people. I usually look there first when I'm serious about buying. EuroOptic and their sister side Scopelist is good too. Optics Planet generally has the widest assortment to browse but you've got to watch their out of stock and backorder stuff. There're things on backorder that have been out of production for years with stupid estimated in stocks of 3-6 weeks, 3-6 months, etc. Shipping is decently fast on in-stock items though. DVOR is Optics Planet's sister site that is a free membership, and sometimes the deals on there are nothing short of spectacular. Shipping is SLOW and returns are store credit only, so there's that to consider. They don't only sell optics. I bought several hunting coats around $800 retail cost earlier this for $200.

Recntly purchased from EuroOptics was a smooth transaction do not buy a lot of Optics but was looking and they had the better price and was quick to ship was nice discount on a Burris Scope...
