I got my hands on a new scope for my weatherby mark 5 and was curious what the mounting options were in terms of a one piece system. I’ve seen and used Talley rings in the past, but would like to avoid them. I currently use a pic rail, but don’t love how high the sight picture is. I’ve searched a decent amount and haven’t found any single piece design like the talleys. Worst case I will continue with the rail and get another set of rings. If anybody knows of another company that makes one piece rings for weatherby, let me know.

I just grabbed a MK V on sale with no prior research besides knowing I wanted one. The mount options are slim it seems. I’ve been looking at the peak 44 rail because it might let me get the scope nice and low. Otherwise it looks like the near mount is the best option but it’s around $400 so I’m not sure I want go that route.

Thanks, I see Leupold makes a ring design in what I’m looking for. Might give those a shot

I have the one piece Leupold rings on two rifles. I like them better than Talley. Ones a 338 the other a 280ai.

I've used Talleys for 20+ years, but was recently told to try the Leupold Backcountry. I now have them on two rifles, and I'm impressed. They seem like an upgrade over the Talleys. They seem to be finished much cleaner.

I've always had ringmarks with properly torqued Talleys, and just sold a scope that I pulled off the Leupolds on a Mark V and it had no ring marks at all.

It's been some time since I owned a Weatherby but my last two Accumarks I used a rail and Alphamount from Near MFG. One of those Accumarks was a 338-378 w/NF 5.5-22x56 on it and I couldn't keep that scope from moving until I put that Near MFG setup on it then it never moved again.

I had a couple questions about what I should use/order so I called them they were great to deal with. Near's stuff is maybe a little pricer then some of the others but it's extremely good high quality stuff.

DNZ makes a one-piece setup for the Mark V. Their stuff is good quality.

That’s what I ended up ordering. If I ever pick up a fancier MV or build one custom I’ll drop the money for a near.

The near looks super well put together, however $400 for rings is a touch steep. I already ordered the Leupold’s, I will see how they work.
