Guys i started the which caliber thread about a week ago. Trying to get my sheep gun out of the way ....stressing more than I should...
I have a 300 RUM I can potentially put on diet and tweak. Currently wearing a B&C stock (M40) with night force and factory sporter barrel...bullets are 1 hole at 100 and can get a touching cloverleaf at 200 but shes HEAVY to carry at least 11 lbs
I had a 264 win mag built for the idea of a sheep gun...but weight fully loaded is 9.5 lbs. Has a mcmillan hunter ..standard fill. #3 benchmark barrel...I could potentially order an edge fill stock...
And I have a factory Thompson bolt. Compass 18" 6.5 creedmor...some one was paying attention that day at factory...shoots .3MOA with factory loads..maybe 7lbs with factory tupperware
Or should I start from scratch build and try to shoot for a super light 300 WM on titanium
If I built another winny would be caliber of choice for availability of ammo (normal times)..
But realistically I would like to put that 3k towards the hunt or other needed gear.
What would yall do...
