One and Done Action.

Some people just want to voice their opinions even if it doesn’t pertain to the topic….welcome to the forum world I suppose.

This is perhaps the greatest irony of all.

Many of we "Tikka fanboys" (probably 'most' who have replied in this thread) have actually been down the custom road. We have shared our experience as it pertains to the topic,

You appear to be missing that subtlety.

To be fair 'science' these days seems to be going the same way. If the conclusion does not match the hypothesis, then something must be wrong with the experiment.

Maybe this is bigger than just ignorance on your part, perhaps it's a cultural problem and you are just the victim 🤔

There are lots of great actions out there, and its easy to get lost in a sea of choices. Clearly defining one's priorities can help to narrow it down.

If you are looking for more than an adult fidget toy, carefully consider the person assembling it. When it comes to 'feel', their understanding of ignition timing, and their ability to fit parts together might have more effect on the whole than the parts themselves.

Enjoy the journey, it is what you make it 👍

Big fan of the bat bumblebee short action, runs 3.250 internal mags from unknown for the 7 saum on a shorty. I have a 65saum built on it, 156s at 3.100 coal.

I would love to know some real world responses as well. I want to know things like:
- Is it worth spending $200 to upgrade from a Zermatt Origin to a TL3?
- Will I really noticed a difference between the Impact 737 vs 707?
- Is the Impact 707 worth spending more for than an Origin?
- The Mack Bros Evo II is really cheap $775, is it a down grade from the others mentioned? Are there inlet issues with it? I've seen some talk of that eventhough it's Rem 700 footprint allegedly

You're looking at some different actions than I mentioned, but you may get some better responses after doing a bit of research to narrow your search down to a few actions you're interested in. Then ask some direct questions around people's experiences to help you get a more refined answer to some of the holes in your understanding of each action. Otherwise, since it's more hunting focused forum, the information you're going to get for a question this general is more about "gittin'r dun" with "what's best and most cost effective" kind of efficiency. The answers will also be personal to each user instead of how things really compare, or serve your needs.

Also, ask chatgpt or some other AI for people's real world reviews of the actions you're interested in. Make sure you prompt it with how you intend to use it. It will look through some forums and give you some general feedback it's seeing. It's not an exhaustive approach, but it will get you to the point of having some informed questions you're looking to answer based on how you plan to use your setup. I ask it so much that it's now tailoring answers to the type of user I am. "Since you're focused on detail, like shooting for precision, but lean more hunting heavy mainly in South Texas with high heats and low elevation, and you reload, you should consider..." It's not always right, but it can help.

Also, people just love their Tikkas, myself included. It just works. It's hard for people to not give that advice when it works so well. I'm a recent convert, and I'm telling all my friends that have been sleeping under the same rock as me. All that being said, I want to build a bespoke dream gun at some point , and it will be different most likely. Although, with the Raven coming out and being on a Tikka footprint it's going to make the modularity hard to pass up.
I have the impact 707 and 737. The 737 is a nicer action but the 707 is great for what I use it for. I had an origin and sold it and would do the same thing today again. It’s nice having the same barrel tenon on both actions if I was at match and my action or bolt crapped out I could switch my barrel to my other action/ bolt and keep moving.

If it was me I would get new lighter weight impact NBK in medium action for the 7saum paired with an Ezekiel foundation stock. That is actually in contingency for my next build I cannot decide on 7ss or 7saum but either way it will be an impact action.
