I’d be surprised if the Scarpas would work for you. Typical narrow Europeon toe box. Lowas work for my wide forefoot. I really like Lowa Bighorns.
Thanks all. I'm pretty sure the Scarpas are too narrow for my foot, as mine are definitely wider than average. Maybe I'll have to look into the Beartooths. I'll have to call Schnees to see if someone in town carries them.
The only ones you're going to find here in town are Kenetrek (Sportsman's) or Meindle (Cabela's). I'm not sure what Scheels carries. Sierra Trading Post carries a random variety of climbing brands, mostly Asolo. Can't remember what REI has.
I've got a pair of Beartooths and a pair of Granites you can look at if you want.
I'm pretty sure Schnee's are only sold in their store in downtown Bozeman. Curt does make it to sheep show with a bunch of boots if you wait until January.
I have found all leather boots make my feet feel like they are in a sauna. Maybe I'm not using the right boot and sock combination....
I read a guys post recently talking about the importance/value of having a little room in your boot. Maybe the right merino sock and a half size bigger would make a non-insulated leather boot work for you. I can't remember the post but it was within the last couple weeks and it was a guy looking for his next pair of boots as well.
