Looking for a new diascope setup for my Kowa 554. Tryig to decide between Ollin and On Glass. Right now I am leaning towards the Ollin but wanted to throw it out there if anyone has used both and can give first had experience with both.

On Glass is a much better system.

1. Can use whatever case you want.
2. Is quick to attach and detach.
3. Light and not bulky.
4. Stable.
5. Not finicky.

Agreed, cost to upgrade phone and/or optic individually is also lower. I don't have any field experience with Ollin but I've tried it out at a few shows and I don't see what it does that OnGlass doesn't that makes it worth the extra $.

+1 for the On Glass, with the magsafe adapter I can use the same case everyday and not worry about moving the alignment tool or messing with it

@Formidilosus : any experience with Impact Digiscoping or Mountain Mag compared to On Glass?

I’ve not used On Glass, but I recently purchased the Mountain Mag and it will be getting used on an elk hunt this week. It checked all the boxes for me (on paper anyways): no proprietary case, no disruption to wireless/magsafe charging, easy setup and take down.

I have not, but the Mountain Mag is the only one that interests me besides the On Glass.

I am probably the one outlier for the OnGlass. I have it, and it just flat does not work 90% of the time without serious fidgiting. I saw Form use it at class, and it seemed like the cat's meow, but for me, nothing but problems.

Setup: Bravo for an NL Pure 14x52 (That eye piece flops around like a dead fish, unless I smash it on. Then the mad adapter on my phone case won't stay put. Tried all the "adhesive" options I could, nothing holds for long. So I am forever fiddling it around to get it to center up. Not sure what I am going to do. At this point, I have jsut given up on digiscoping, and let whomever I am with do it.

If anyone else is using this on a bino and not a spotting scope, I'd love to pick your brain on how you got the eye peice to align right.

I used epoxy to glue the adapter on my phone case the sticky stuff it came with just wouldn't work. As far as the loose fitting, I took some sticky back felt that I had for bow silencing and put it between the optics adapters to snug everything up. That helped the "slop" substantially. I use the adapter on my zulu 6, and geovids and have another one for my baby razor. One more mod I need to do is remove the one magnet that isn't used for my phone on the adapter. My phone likes to stick to it by accident all the time.

Haha. I don’t know.

I do have to use super glue to attaché the plate to the case, but after that- no issues. The vast majority of my use is on binoculars.

Eye cups in or out at all?
I usually end up with my eye cups all the way in because i rotate the OG adapter as i install it to help get it fully seated and this rotates the eye cups down.

Worth a double check, did you lock the spacer in to the adapter? you have to really give it a good turn to click it in to the lock. this wasn't intuitive to me at first and i also noticed a lot of slop and thought the thing was just way loose...but once it clicked in it was very solid.

For attaching the 3M tape to my phone I just hit it with a clorox wipe and wiped it dry with a paper towel. I have it directly on my phone (no case) but maybe if the surface of the case you are using is porous it might not adhere well? It's sticking very firmly to the back of my phone that is smooth.

As far as alignment, their provided alignment 'tool' worked for me to make sure i had it in the right spot. isnt perfect but it's plenty good enough and i can see the whole optic window.

removing the second magnet is a good idea, i might do that if i can get in there without tearing things up.
