Inherited a much-neglected Marlin 336 in 30-30 from the Father-in-law a few years back.
Wife and mother in law have requested that.i harvest a deer for MnL's freezer this year using the rifle.
Had it head blasted, cerakoted, and restocked with a nice laminate from Boyds.
Then the hammer spring quit functioning;
I.e. the hammer falls but.leave a minute imprint on the primer but doesn't ignite it.
Ordered a new spring kit for the entire rifle from Midway a while back but I'm intimidated about opening this rifle.uo.
I've done very basic stuff like bedding a rifle and free floating barrels and have basic tools.
My question is:
How difficult is it to open up a lever gun and give it some love and brand new springs?
I have images in my.head of removing the last screw and the entire thing spontaneously disassembles itself all over my shop.
