Inherited a much-neglected Marlin 336 in 30-30 from the Father-in-law a few years back.
Wife and mother in law have requested that.i harvest a deer for MnL's freezer this year using the rifle.
Had it head blasted, cerakoted, and restocked with a nice laminate from Boyds.
Then the hammer spring quit functioning;
I.e. the hammer falls but.leave a minute imprint on the primer but doesn't ignite it.
Ordered a new spring kit for the entire rifle from Midway a while back but I'm intimidated about opening this rifle.uo.
I've done very basic stuff like bedding a rifle and free floating barrels and have basic tools.

My question is:
How difficult is it to open up a lever gun and give it some love and brand new springs?

I have images in my.head of removing the last screw and the entire thing spontaneously disassembles itself all over my shop.

Anyone got some YT videos that break it.down Big Bird and Barney style for me?
Or a prior thread with tons of pics?
Or...?

You get the idea.

Thank ya

You Tube is your friend, I guarantee you there is a step by step video on disassembly and reassembly of that rifle.

Dunno why I didn't think of the Marlin website.
