Oiling a Fouled Bore

I don’t go for copper removal till accuracy suffers. I have 2 rifles that shoot well with the only cleaning is a bore snake pulled through 1x. To prevent rust, should I run a oil patch in between sessions on top of the fouling that is already in the bore?

I don’t normally treat the bore with anything unless it’s been cleaned. I use wipeout which cleans and protects, Ive gone many many months and up to a year without issue.

IMO yes. I personally pull a snake through at the end of a shooting session or even after a hunt and if I am not going to be shooting the gun for a while I run a wet patch of oil, then run a dry patch do get the excess out.
