Ohio hunting lease prices in early 2026 vary wildly depending on quality, location, size, and whether it's through a broker agent they jack it up 2x sometimes.

Real world going rates per acre annual, exclusive or small group, mostly deer focused from forums like OhioSportsman and recent listings
Average average landowner direct: $10-20 acre common for decent mixed woods ag.
Premium trophy potential good access, big deer history $20-40 acre SE Ohio hotspots often hit $30+.
Broker agent managed: $30-60 acre Base Camp, etc, with insurance included; some folks say it's overpriced.
Smaller parcels under 100 acres command higher $ acre; bigger blocks drop it. Season only leases gun muzzleloader run cheaper than full year.
Best counties for quality deer leases right now:
Southeast Ohio Vinton, Jackson, Athens, Meigs, Gallia, Hocking, Lawrence, Pike Top for big woods, low pressure, trophy potential; often $20-30+ acre for good ones.
Central Eastern Coshocton, Muskingum, Guernsey, Knox, Licking Solid ag woods mix, consistent big bucks; $15-30acre range.
Southern Adams, Scioto, Highland Great habitat, more affordable entry.

Go to the northwest side, Hardin, Marion, Hancock, Logan, Union and just knock on doors and ask.
My grandfather has about 300 acres of mixed woods and ag that some one pulls a 10 pointer from every year.
If you want to practice on groundhogs in the spring summer plenty of them their too
