OG65 Evaluation Q&A

I ended up installing the thread adapter by putting rocksett on the barrel threads, hand tightening the adapter, then cranking the suppressor on as tight as I could with my hands and leaving it for a day. The can came off no problem and the adapter is firmly on the barrel.

If I was more patient and smarter, I'd probably get 2 nuts, jam then, and use that to tighten the adapter.

Shot my 22" Tikka .22-250 yesterday with the OG Six Five for the first time.

Impressive for sure. Dead calm day in the mountains, so great testing conditions for the ears. Buddy and I both had zero issues shooting or spotting without ear pro.

The form factor + suppression is definitely a legit combo, and makes me want to toss my Harvester Evos 😆. So light! I'll be leaving more barrels 20-22" and enjoying a little extra velocity.

Will shoot it side by side with a few other new cans next month once I have the rest in-hand and share findings.

I picked up my OG65 from the group buy Saturday and promptly tested it out on Sunday.

My buddy and I were both shooting Tikka UPR in 6.5CM with 24" barrels. He was shooting 143gr Norma ammo and I had 140gr Hornady BTHP.

We both agreed that the OG sounded much quieter than his .30 Banish. I'm not sure exactly which model he has. Interestingly, we recorded shots with each on a decibel meter phone app and they were reading the same at about 130 decibels with the phone placed basically in line with our ears.

Other than looking cool, the thing that immediately struck me was how light the suppressor was in hand.

Recoil was essentially non-existent shooting off a bipod.

I'm thinking about picking one of these up, anyone else have more perspective or thoughts? Would be going on a lightweight (not insane lightweight like the Ultralight thread) 16" mid-length 5.56 SPR for run and gun events, and do double duty as a hunting rifle suppressor.

I think it would be great at that. Just factor in hand guard length vs barrel length vs reflex length. Make sure with barrel whip/flex the back of your can won’t make contact with your hand guard. And consider getting yourself a mirage cover.
