OG65 Evaluation Q&A

Mine was a little sticky after taking on and off but I just wiped my muzzle threads clean and has been smooth as butter since. Super easy.

When I got mine (one of the first ones) I flushed it with a garden hose/commpressed air/caned powder blaster then grease on the threads. No issues on 5 different guns.

I got the raw finish and wouldn’t elect to do that again solely because the two ends that were machined are polished and very shiny. Not what one wants on a hunting can.

Hmmm. I’ve also got a raw one on the way and I certainly don’t want the front end to be shiny either.

Maybe hit it with a torch until you get some gold or purple color.

@wind gypsy - I'm guessing you already know about this, but just in case not (or for anyone else) high-temp spraypaint can work well also. Sold not only in auto parts stores, but often in hardware stores for re-touching woodstoves.

Would that even take the sheen off of it?

I used basic camo spray paint on a shiny aftermarket flat cap for a scythe and it worked enough. Scratches off easily but at least it’s not a 1.5” circle mirror.

I really like the raw finish, would be awesome if the whole thing looked that way or just the ends were bead blasted. No idea how difficult that’d be to do. Agree with @Antares, easily fixable

Honestly never though about the middle end being polished, thanks for creating problems for me. :ROFLMAO:

Luckily I have a wide roll of masking tape left over from a painting project that can get used during hunting season

Been shooting the OG65 the last few days and it’s by far my favorite can. Love not thinking about end caps or adapters working loose. It sounds great, but also really carries great. Even though it’s only 7.3 oz, having that weight not just hanging off the end of the barrel, but moved back and distributed over the barrel leaves you with nice handy rifle to tote around.

Glad you’re really liking your can from us! Thank you for the honest feedback.

Btw that’s the cleanest range I’ve ever seen. Wow
