Off-Brand Lighted Nocks

I purchased some inexpensive lighted nocks off Amazon and I'm wondering how they're supposed to work. If I press the nock FULLY on the string it lights up but there's a small section that it catches on before going all the way down. Am I supposed to nock it on the first spot then let the string come forward and hit the switch on the shot? That seems like the best option for hunting scenarios, but I don't want to "dry fire" my bow by not having my arrows fully nocked.

I don’t know the specifics of your nock, but for similar ones it should not light when seated on the string fully. The black switch should be fully in the rear position - make sure it’s completely back. They should light upon release.

Nocks pictured should sit in the spot above the switch, if you have too tight of a fit and need to push the nock hard to get it to set it might be going into the switch?

Copy. I checked out the nock fit on my string this morning. It seems like it’s supposed to sit there until the shot breaks and then hit the switch as the string comes forward.

Guess I’ll give it a go next time I’m out to shoot
