Oboz boots?

I was in REI yesterday scoping out lightweight boots for summer and came across a brand called Oboz. Sales guy said they're made outside of Bozeman hence the name. They looked really well made but didn't have my size to try on. Web search showed good reviews but those folks probably didn't try them on turkeys then bears then antelope then anything else a Rokslider would....Any Montana boys out there?

I'm looking for a lighter early season boot as well and saw some in the store the other day. They actually looked fairly beefy in the ankle (which I need) but they reminded me of Keens a little bit and the tag said Made in China, so not sure I'm ready to trade in the Sportivas quite yet... But interested in real world reviews for sure.

Good Article from 2010 about them http://billingsgazette.com/business...cle_47db774c-7b3f-11df-97d7-001cc4c03286.html

No personal experience Im not a trailblazer and try to go off the real world experience of others as I have bad feet. But I like their business practice for sure. They are said to plant a tree for every pair of shoes they sell. They are kindering to the ecofriendly folks who are earth and green conscious. Im sure there are tons of reviews out there. Id check the backpacking websites. Bet you can find some pretty good reviews on them.

I have a pair, not sure what model. I picked them up at the REI scratch and dent sale for cheap. They were close to brand new as far as I could tell and the fit of the boot was good. I have ran them several miles of training hikes and for two weeks while hunting elk and deer in the backcountry last season

I usually run a light flexible boot like a merrell moab or lowa renegade, so the model I have was stiff compared to those two. I really liked that about them. (my next pair of boots will be on the stiff side.)

They were comfortable for me, although I tend to be the type that can fit most types of boots with no big issues. I did not run into any extended amount of rain or moisture, but they held up to minor shallow stream crossings.

I will say that so far my only complaint that comes to mind as I write this is the sole (not Vibram) has not held up to well, several of the "studs" or tread have broken off. With that said I have worn them while hiking some sharp rocky terrain. I will more than likely run them again this year but have done most of my recent hiking in the renegades.

Not sure I would buy them at full pop as there seems to be proven go to boots that I would likey try first. But I would spring for them if I found a sweet deal.

I have been using the Oboz Bridgers for about two years and really like them. I really like the combination of the soft, flexible sole with the fairly rugged upper nubuck leather. I focus on elk in the fall and black bear in the spring, so these have held up typical SW MT mountain terrain. I use these throughout the winter as well and they stay waterproof in the snow if you apply some sort of treatment on a fairly regular basis. I have a brand new pair waiting in my closet for when my first pair dies, but I am expecting to get another year out of my first pair.

I appreciate all the info. Haven't been on the 'lectric box for a few days. My cousin/ hunting partner and I drove 21 hours to Florida to put the hurt on a couple of osceola turkeys and finish the slam. Man it's HOT down here...

Recurve- I have been using the Oboz for about 3 years now. I do not remember the model I have. They are extremely comfortable and provide all the support I need. I have loaded 120# in my pack for training and never had a support or comfort issue. When these wear out I plan to get another pair of the Oboz. I will say I am extremely rough on foot wear and these are showing no signs of giving up.
