Recently ran a Spartan Race up near Kalispell, looks like some good mule deer territory. Looking to speak with anybody who has hunted up near there? Would be hunting with my recurve. I have never shot a muley and don't necessarily have to hold out for a trophy. Honestly a 150-160 class buck and I would be ecstatic.

Either hit a sore spot or noone hunts up there!

From my limited knowledge, deer densities are low. You will want to focus on the alpine basins for archery. Odds are, most guys that have hunted or do still hunt that area are pretty tight lipped about it. If you find a basin that is good I would suggest you do the same. Good luck!

That's what I was assuming, hopefully I can find some basins, google earth is on the menu

If you can figure out a way to Google Earth scout that country and yield results definitely keep me in the loop haha. Seems that burning the boot leather and lots of hunting or scouting is really the best way to find those bucks. I can attest to the low deer densities. They are there somewhere.

Alpine basins without trail access. Then you just have to figure out which ones hold the deer.
