NV unit 71-77 archery mule deer

Took 5 years but drew first NV tag. Never been to the area. Plan to take a scouting trip to drive a bunch of roads over July 4 to figured out the area. No idea where to start so likely drive a bunch of miles. Question, are the roads pretty open in northeast NV. Meaning not many locked gates or other surprises. I imagine NV being pretty accessible but curious if that’s a naive conclusion. Thanks.

Does Ruby Land and Cattle Company allow hunting? Noticed large part of unit 77 is checker boarded with BLM and Ruby..... appreciate the insight.
