Does anyone know if WC is going to still work on the colt rifles or has that ship sailed?
Wilson has stopped taking work on 1911's with the exception of their own. So I am guessing they are pretty tied up right now.Does anyone know if WC is going to still work on the colt rifles or has that ship sailed?
Melvin will still “melvinize” the colts and Forbes rifles out of his shop after WC begins production.Does anyone know if WC is going to still work on the colt rifles or has that ship sailed?
I think they’re going through some kind of expansion?Wilson has stopped taking work on 1911's with the exception of their own. So I am guessing they are pretty tied up right now.
I can't wait to see what they are going to cost.I just called up Wilson Combat and a gentleman told me that some reps from WILSON headed out to the NRA show and that they brought three samples of the Wilson version of this rifle with them. So keep your eyes peeled for shots of those to come pretty soon.
When they sold the company to the Australian defense firm...The new owner said its his favorite hunting rifle and they will be bringing it back into production. There is thread on here somewhere with the story and his quotes...When did Barret bring back the fieldcraft ? I missed thatv
Correct, the previous ones were not free floated and were fully bedded one at a time, the stocks were also Melvin Forbes design.Looks like the .243, .308 and 6.5cm are available in the wild! $3,295 street price. Not surprised to see the .243 per the new owners / ceo interview earlier this year.
The Wilson version states a free float barrel. The original NULA rifles were not free float, correct?
Will be cool to see this in 6 CM sometime soon.
Why did Wilson Combat even need to buy NULA if they were going to create a completely new design? They could have made this rifle at any point without NULA.Correct, the previous ones were not free floated and were fully bedded one at a time, the stocks were also Melvin Forbes design.
These new ones are nothing at all like the former NULA rifles. It’s pretty disappointing, I rely wish I’d bought one from Melvin.
I’m guessing they got the rights to it or some of the machining tools for a good price. Just one fairly small but high end custom shop buying another. Why did Wilson Combat even need to buy NULA if they were going to create a completely new design? They could have made this rifle at any point without NULA.
