Hey fellas,
I have a SO courthouse with the big mama stove currently, which works great. A few buddies turned me on to nu-way for the shear fact of conveniency. Leaning over on your cot and hitting an ignite sounds a lot better than getting out of bed to build a fire in the early November mornings. I still plan to use my big mama for backpacking, but the hunt i have coming up, I won’t be hiking in. My question is, for those that are using these stoves in the single wall synthetic shelters like SO or kifaru, does it struggle to heat up the shelter? Multi dampers, fans, heat exchangers in the stove pipe? It would be hard to justify spending $600+ and not be satisfied. Lmk your thoughts.

I've been happy with mine in my 8man tipi, not using any fans or anything fancy, though that is a good idea, if you can rig something up at the peak to circulate the hot air back down. The convenience and ease of temperature regulation is fantastic.

Don't overlook the power of two tiny CPU fans like these - powered by a USB power pack - to move hot air around inside of your tent! They are also awesome to drop into your boots overnight so that you have dry boots every morning. Mine weigh something like 2.5 ounces combined.
We hang ours from the nest loops in our tipi tent when we use the stove.
Works a'charm.
