Nss action wrench?

Ok so I bought a NSS action wrench to use for my Tika t3 project but I am failing to see how it is going to hold my action solid enough to get my stock barrel off. It specifically says it will work on a Tika and all my other rifle combos, has anyone used this wrench on a TIka? I am failing to see how I can use the flat sides of the wrench because I can’t spin it around at all? Any help would be appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!

Interested, was getting ready to buy one too
I tried flipping it over but when I do that the bolts aren’t long enough. Plus the action screw bolt that is sent with it is the wrong thread pitch for the tika so that won’t work either! I emailed James but haven’t gotten a response yet because of the holiday. We shall see!

Buy some longer grade 8 bolts for it so you can orient it flat-flat. I had to do this with my wheeler action wrench.

It is only threaded for the handle on one side so it won’t go flat to flat only round to flat. Kinda disappointed, I shoulda just bought the wheeler. I was just trying to support a smaller company. Still hopeful that I am just being dumb and not seeing something.

Is the head of it made up of 3 blocks? Hard to tell in the pic...I thought that maybe the half round block in the middle could flip too. And the handle threads into the thinner 1/2"-looking bottom block

I’m not familiar with that wrench, but the wheeler I had was pretty self explanatory. But if the action screw is wrong maybe he can get you squared away

No only two parts and the handle.

....I might be missing it, too, but I don't see how that will work for a Tikka. Unless you tried to put the action in a vise and suck that round-round tight enough on the barrel. Never seen it done that way, and after doing a few, I wouldn't try it.

Should slide the action into the hole and tighten it down. The barrel would go in a barrel vise. Grab the handle and pull.

I’ll admit, I’m not overly familiar with a tikka. If it’s square and needing flats would an appropriately sized wrench work?
Honestly, I think you could get away with it...but breaking the factory barrels loose can be a monster. If your wrench slips or has any slop at all, it's going to show up somewhere.

For the factory barrel removal, I clamp the barrel in my barrel vise as tightly as I can, with 2 heavy wraps of saddle leather to protect the barrel finish. Then I put the vise in a hydraulic press to assist in adequate pressure on the tube. Tighten the action wrench onto the action with everything oriented strategically in a way that I can put max force on the wrench handle AND strike it with a dead blow hammer.

And that's all after soaking in penetrating oil for a week or so....

I’m proud my old mauser wasn’t that much trouble. I broke an arisaka apart once and that was true pain. About like your experience

Have you reach out to Northland? James was always helpful when I had questions. I have that wrench and use it for Savage and Remington actions, never considered it to work with a Tikka.

Yeah I have an email out to him but no response yet because of holiday timing. I am sure I am just missing something. I will update when he gets back to me.
