Just got into the NRL-H world in the last year. Currently using a custom 6.5 creed in a KRG Bravo stock.
Just found out that there is a semi-local, once a month PRS-22 match that I would like to start doing for training purposes. Looking at the CZ 457 American SR to drop in a Bravo chassis with an optic matching my comp rifle.
My first question:
Is there a better sub-$1k rifle option that mimics a Rem 700* platform in function that is chambered in 22LR and fits into a Bravo chassis? Other than the Tikka which I wish I could switch to enmass.

Question #2:
I've also got a GREAT shooting RA G2 in 5.56 that I would love to drop into a matching chassis/optic setup as both my rimfire and my comp rifle. I assume that others have done this type of "training rifle battery" idea and I am wondering if it is worth the hassle to make each rifle as close to an exact match as possible.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on ammo for rimfire comp use I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, yeah, I know. I also despise the Rem 700 platform and nearly everything about it, but it is what I have to work with at the moment and for reasons that are not germane now I will not be switching anytime soon. #SadBears

there is the Zermatt rimx action not sure if there is a factory offering with the action but its the closes to a 700. Other option is bergara 22 which are some what popular

You can start the swap to Tikka now… I picked up a T1 and it’s nice so far. The CZ and Bergara are other common choices. I wouldn’t worry about having one like the Rem 700 platform too much.

Get the MTR version of the 457. Similar ergos to the bravo. If you don’t jive with it, then get the bravo.

Swfa 10x keeps you under the cash cap for production/factory division if that’s something you care about.

I'll send ya a Dm explaining it but I wish I could.
Appreciate the reply.

I bought the Bergara steel barreled action and have been super happy with it! I dropped mine in an xlr like my other setups and it’s been great plus fits your R700 criteria for stocks triggers etc

Came here to say t1x….but if you want to keep it closer to rem 700…AND you want sub 1000. I think you’re looking at the CZ. The Bergara is probably going to be just barely over your stated budget. I’ve seen lots of guys shoot the CZ successfully. Near me, they seem to be more popular than tikkas. I can’t speak to what fits in what chassis.

I’ll offer a little different perspective, having wanted to do similar to you with a t3/t1 setup.

Id get the cz above. T1x mags are an issue. If you’re not going to take the 22 matches serious I wouldn’t go too nuts. Even for fun matches I was ready to whip the tikka mags down range.

IMO you don’t need a matching 22, I’d skip the bravo. 22LR imo just dosnt translate to being a good centerfire shooter. Some principals apply for sure. To me 22 is frustrating, I just bought the cz and am going to go with it for the occasional fun 22 match. Atleast with the CZ, if someday I want to turn it into a real match gun I have the option. But at the same time it’s not eating into my real rifle budget.
