NRL Factory Class Rifle Recommendations

The 0.1 mil wind call reference was a 257 high bc bullet going 2850 VS 2950.

I've burnt 3 25cm barrels, still shooting 2 others. Have a fair bit of experience with it.

I'd go 28in 65cm sending 153hyb or atip at 2700, I see more with a slower bullet, just me.

Think about the physics, a 140 65mm is 3% heavier than a 135 25 cal, in a 3% bigger bore. It's gonna take similar psi to push each bullet same velocity.

Good brass properly sized and a good action will hide a lot of pressure. Just water test your ammo and make sure it's not gonna bite you if the weather gets ugly at a match.

Im not saying that you are wrong. You're following conventional wisdom.

I think its very relevant for prs.

But for NRL. My observations were that a lot of time you couldn't see your misses anyway due to the terrain/setup, and more often then not the data from one target was irrelevant to the others, and there were times that the gusts were too variable. Im thinking of a particular turkey where I had over a mil of variation on windage due to the gusts and a set of targets coming off of bluffs where you just couldnt get the wind right. And a lot of misses i saw were due to misranging.

So this year im going fast. Maybe I'll revert back. But im looking at 30% less wind drift and a non insignificant amount of trajectory improvement. 0.5-1+ mil. Both get me a more forgiving tolerance on wind calls and misranged targets increasing first round impacts. And I really like first round impacts. I *might* sacrifice seeing misses at closer targets. But if im missing at 200-300 yards then ive got other problems then trajectory and drifts.
