Not a lot of love on here for the Luxe MiniPeak II?

I have been getting into the floorless shelter game this year. I have tried a few from the SO Silvertip to the Mountain Smith Tarp tent. Use is for single person only. I recently bought a Luxe MiniPeak II and used it a few times now. For me this shelter is by far better and roomier than the other two I have tried. The price point for Luxe TeePee's is so much cheaper as well.

This will be the shelter that I take to Colorado this week for 8 days in the back country. I was just wondering why there isn't a lot of talk about these Luxe shelters on here, compared to Seek and Kifaru? It seems to be a solid shelter and the price is half the cost of others. What am I missing here? Can anyone tell me about the long term structural integrity of this shelter, or if I'm missing something? Anyone run a small stove in one for late season hunts?

They are fairly new on the market, maybe that's why? I know they've existed for a while but I only started seeing them pushed over the last few years.

I am curious too, I've been eyeing one since I first saw them

Luxe shelters DO NOT use the same material as Kifaru and SO. So, of course they will be much cheaper. However, they're not nearly as durable. I would go with tried and true and stick with the elite brands.

Lots of people talk down on them on here. Ive been watching Luxes for a year now and I havent seen one thread with a torn one or bad reviews. They use ripstop nylon fabric as well... Id use one in a heartbeat .

I've had a SO Silvertip and it is a different material. I couldn't get it pitched without getting the "bell" look to it. Lost a lot of interior space.

I'm am very sure it was operator error and I probably have up too quick and sold it.

This Luxe is a pyramid design and it set up so much easier for me , with not any bell look. Lots of interior room with two real vents up top. I love the tent so far, just time will tell how it lasts.

You didn't have the Silvertip pitched high enough, that's why you got the bell look to it. I had the same issue with my LBO before I figured out the pole wasn't long enough. Makes a huge difference.

I bought the Minipeak XL, but sold it on here a few months ago. I’ve owned SO and Kifaru as well. Nothing wrong with Luxe ... sure the materials aren’t as high quality, but I thought it was “good enough”.

I’ve just moved away from floorless for awhile and more toward 4-season with vestibule myself. Just a preference for now. But again, I thought the Luxe was pretty slick for the price. My 2 cents ...

There heavier.
Sure it doesn't sound like much. But 3 days into carring your gear everyday you'll be sad if you're carrying an extra match stick.

I have the hexpeak mini 2p with the half inner and im leaving for my second trip out in it next week. So far i have no complaints. Most of their price cut comes from being sewn in China vs US is what i was told from luxe. I spent a test night in the yard and then 4 days in it last trip. It rained for almost 72hrs straight. There was decent wind as well at points and the shelter did awesome with no leaks. For one guy it was a palace! If ypur over 5' 9 i would get the xl though. Im happy with the purchase and will continue to use it until i require something different. If your ready to pull the trigger but hesitate due to lack of hype i say go for it! Good product, great customer service and a fair price.
