Northern California Bear

Hello all,

Recently discovered the site and thought I'd introduce myself and post my recent successful hunt. I backpacked into a Northern California wilderness with a buddy of mine. We hiked in about 8 miles where we set up camp. Glassed up this boar the night before the opener and watched him feed until it got too dark.

Opening morning we found him in the same spot. I was able close a half mile gap to 52 yards. It is my first bear. He weighed about #350. I had the skull officially scored at 20 2/16". I have to say I am bitten by the bear hunting bug. Can't wait to do it again this summer.

My first time backpack hunting is this year, deer and bear tags for nor cal, I can't wait! Two months to go!
