The wife and I will be heading to Wyoming this September for a combination antelope hunt and some fishing. Would like to check out the river in this area, I’ve heard there’s some decent fishing around Fremont Canyon as well as possibly the miracle mile section. Does anyone have any decent information on tent camping out of a car in this area, especially camping that has relatively quick road access to both shores of the river ( we are wondering if it makes sense to camp here for both hunting and the fishing, and if so where would be our best bet). Any info as far as reservations required or possible, areas to look at, or where to get information would be very helpful. I’ve done some web searching and it seems like there is some general info but hoping to get a little bit of feedback from a visitors perspective. I dont know anyone to ask personally, so if you’d be willing to share any info I’d love to drop you a message. Thanks very much in advance!

We have fished around there and actually have better luck at gray reefs/alcova right below the spillway. Miracle Mile is usually pretty busy too. Camping right there at alcova and spots at miracle Mile as well.

Lots of goats between alcova and the mile. There are spots to camp right off the river at the mile. We fished there two days and had to get there early to grab our hole.
