I'm looking to pull the trigger on a sleep system for western hunting. I've narrowed it down to either the Seek Outside 6 Person or the NorTent Tipi 6. Has anyone had any experience with NorTent? I've watched a few YouTube videos on them and read through their site, but was hoping to hear from someone with real-world experience with them.

Of the two and you being from Virginia. I would say seek outside. Nortent looks nice but in Norway. God forbid you need help or service SO is local in comparison.

Nortent looks great, some really cool features. Unfortunately I have no experience with them or no of anyone that does.
SO been excellent for me, great products and no issues with anything I have had.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback, guys. hammer, I hadn't considered needing help/service, that's a valid point for sure. I know SO puts out great stuff, but this guys YouTube review has me leaning towards the NorTent at this point. I'll continue mulling it over for a few days.

Great video. Looks like it has some really cool features. I like that stove assembly also.
Did you inquire as to shipping costs and lead times?

Seriously, I am in Sweden, and let me say on the issue of service and shipping, if you are in the states its hard to see any great reason to buy something that comes from SO far away, just in terms of shipping, repairs, shit hitting the fan and needing to send back for warranty, etc. I wish there were makers of great lightweight gear here, but the best are all in the states. You have longer shipping times, higher prices and customs fees. The best light and ultra light gear can be bought from stateside sellers. I can say that if I had a comparable product, identical price, I would get the one closest to me sheerly from a customer service standpoint.

Trial - I did ask them about the shipping time, but not the costs. They informed me that the products would ship 2-3 days after order confirmation via FedEx and would arrive in about a week, so not too bad.

I completely get this viewpoint, however, if something fails or needs service in the field, I don't think any company, US based or not, would be able to save the day with respect to a shelter like this. Even SO makes their systems on a per order basis (at least that's what their site states). This is a fairly expensive purchase for a shelter that I expect to last many years, therefore I'm trying to make the decision based purely on quality and features. Also, it seems that the NorTent system comes with a repair kit as well, not sure if SO does.

Thanks for all the insight so far, though. It definitely helps to consider everything when dropping this kind of money. I consider it a lifetime purchase.
