Nock Pinch and Nock Fit.

Ahh, its nice to have excuses to blame my bad shooting on... Give it a read, seems like Dudley knows his stuff.

So after this, and testing my serving with the rolling string test and the point-out arrow, I decided I would need to put a new nock set in, and reserve my center serving. There in lies the issue, I am shooting easton x nocks with a 24 strand WC string. Does anyone have any Idea what serving size I need? I was thinking .021 or .019 in BCY Halo.

Any suggestions?

you "plink" the string with an loaded arrow? i always pull the string back 1" and let er rip.if it comes away..good to go. i like his method better!! saves me from picking up an arrow

i like that dudley guy alot. i learn alot from him. (like how to tie a d-loop. really basic stuff)

I would personally use BCY 62xs over the halo. It is much better for center serving and provides a better grip. .021.

For a guy that knows his stuff, I was surprised when I watched his show one time and he was BH tuning. He'd shoot a field point arrow at the target and then his BH tipped arrow. Then said, "You can expect to ruin a few arrows once you get it tuned". Ya think? Hmmmm........I wonder if it just might be a better idea to shoot the BH tipped arrow FIRST. I need the hand to forehead emoticon, but this one will have to do.

I personally think nock tightness comes more into effect for traditional bows then it does a compound bow. On a compound I don't think it makes much of a difference. That's my opinion thou.

He isn't paying for his arrows so he doesn't care how many he destroys, but I agree, bh 1st then field tip.

i kinda feel this way too. my brother had loose nocks and once dropped his arrow off the string about 0.0002 seconds before he pulled the trigger. he called me BUMMED, that he dry-fired his bow. i had to talk him back into archery.

i played with my bow last night. i tried his method of testing tightness. mine dont meet his criteria..but i can plink my arrow off with a 1" pull back of the string. my serving is not worn or crushed at the nockpoint.
