"Public feedback indicated substantial concern of overcrowding on public lands, over-pressured elk, decreased hunter success and hunting quality. Although 51% of survey respondents (50% resident, 53% nonresident) indicated they supported a general season, a large majority of these same respondents included written comments expressing major concerns, indicating less support for a general season than the statistics in the graph below."

I thought unit 7 in WY was all draw for elk already. It's like 12pts for a NR to draw

I can't believe people actually thought that would be a good idea????? It's checkerboarded more than any unit I know. There really isn't a ton of accessible public land. A general tag would have been a disaster IMO.

Commission is going to need more wolves in 7 to achieve objectives. HMA and cow/calf tags aren’t cutting it.

Heck they made an area nearby General and it has way less access than 7.
They would have done it if LOs didn't raise the trespassing issue.
