NM Elk Draw Coming Soon

Red for me and my wife but my dad drew an out of state rifle tag in a western Gila unit so I’ll be going with him. He’s been hunting his entire life but this will be his first elk hunt and at 63 who knows how much longer he’ll still be able to get around as good as he can now. We’ve been on countless hunting trips together but I’m thinking this one may be the hunt of a lifetime.

I think I may give up on trying to draw in NM.

Financially I am now in a position where I can afford a landowner tag if I can get a hold of one. Not a Gila tag but something mid tier is in the realm for me.

now 21 years for me since my last archery NM elk tag....enough is enough.

I'm going anyways...no refund on the general hunting license for past couple years....so coyotes it is. Big, damn cream/yellow colored ones about 600 lbs.

I drew unit 36 second archery! hopefully find a guide since I will probably never draw again.

Did you find an outfitter for that area? Hunted with an outfit in that area a few years back.
