I've had a few different versions of SFLs and really like them for their function and size. I recently bought a pair of 12x42 NLs and absolutely love them. Currently wondering if I should sell my SFL 8x40s for the NL 8x32s, as they're the same size and weight. Does anyone have experience using these side by side? My main concern is the low light performance will be significantly less with the NLs given the smaller exit pupil, and I'm using these for treestand bowhunting primarily. Low light performance must be good.

Thoughts? Am I searching for such a marginal improvement that it's a moot point?

Yes, I had 8x32 NL Pures and went to 8x40 SFLs a few years ago and I liked the SFLs better overall. Larger exit pupil, more forgiving eyebox, brighter in low light, lighter weight. Only thing they give up is a little FOV and edge clarity (which is very hard to notice in this comparision).
