Nitride v Cerakote (or both) for Tikka custom

I am assuming those that has negative experiences with cerakoting actions internally had tight tolerances. I've had 4 done in Tikkas, which have loose internal tolerances where the bolt rides, and they still feel like glass. If I recall, miner were all E series and not the micro slick.

I've done the same. Spray paint works pretty well especially the ones I lightly sprayed with an etching?....primer. A kinda fancy for spray can primer I was told about. I've had cerakote done by maybe 3-4 different people. Some people are a little better with applying it than others. GA precision and Karl do great clean smooth work. The jobs that were a little less appealing held up fine though. I've also done about a dozen or so for myself and friends with Brownells aluma Hyde. Like with any paint or whatever you want to call it prep and application is what makes it. It's good stuff and is closer to cerakote than spray paint in my opinion.

All that said the last I don't know how many I haven't done anything and alls been well. For my uses or lack of I don't think it matters. I haven't ruined a rifle from rust or corrosion. My old rifle I sent Karl for a new barrel was getting kinda ugly but it's stainless and I asked him to bead blast it to freshen it up.
