Lol big blue Osprey 88 can hold a blaser k95 and a whole ewe, with head, walked past groups of granolas coming up for day while I got it done at day break, wimps missed sunrise above tree line haha, was boning while they were at the trail head, hiking solo in dark in grizz country ain’t for everyone, prolly wondering why I was going so slow using both poles on way out late am with a good dose of naproxen before hike out for the knees haha. They had no clue I had a sheep in my pack. Chatted with em etc. Good excuse to rest lol
Gotta great story about a flying squirrel trying to land on my headlamp at 4am coming up through trees. Always say if you find me dead in the trees...a grouse did it...but can tell you, a 1’ square sheet of white flying at your head at the most ominous of times will also maybe kill you lol, ducked at last millisecond, facker hit tree beside me and the shock of me seeing it come around tree...and trying to math what the absolute fack it was, while it was doing exact same thing....crazy lookin squirrel, big azz eyes and grey white etc, I had no idea.....had to Google when I got home if alberta had flying squirrels as I didn’t want to sound crazy, turns out we do. Don’t learn the hard way. That facker would have shredded my face if it connected. When you heard the way it ripped that tree beside me that it did connect with...ouch. Thing dropped from easy 30’ up, right for the headlamp. Took a minute to get heart right before resuming climb lol.
