I have a hard time believing that NF is aware of this thread, or even this website. Or if they are, they don’t care, as per usual. If they were paying attention, they would realize that they are about to lose massive market share to a nearly unheard of company who is about to release a very similar scope that simply has a better reticle. NF could’ve had the first mover advantage here and people would’ve paid a premium for the NF name. Instead, they willfully chose to sell less product.

The reticle may not be perfect but atleast we got a donut on the 2-12. I've pre-ordered one to compare to my Maven RS1.2. The weight and length reduction is desirable to me if all else is equal.

Yep, it makes no sense. But even the Moar isn’t available in the NX6 from what I can tell.

This is overall a large step backwards for NF.

I pre ordered a 2-12 FFP in Mils. I’m curious to see how this will be compared to the FC-DMX.

Sucks about the Mil-R reticle, I prefer it over Mil-C

I’ve tried really hard to convince myself to buy a NF, but the lack of ED glass in the lower level lines is an immediate kill. The NX8 gets closer, but the 8x erector just doesn’t make sense in my context and the optics are better, but still not where I want them. What I really want is a baby ATACR. All ED glass, 30mm body, 6x erector, MOAR reticle, 13” long and 27oz or less and I’d be there with a pre-order. I thought Credo HX could fill that gap for me, and by and large it did, but I was just never able to get past their choice to go so mid on the glass and I let mine move on. When I heard NX6, I got excited thinking “This is finally it!”. Sadly, I don’t think that’s where it’s going, but it would be REALLY nice if NF would finally release a really top shelf hunting centric scope after all these years.

For this I will always stick with the Atacr. The extra weight is worth it for me to able to see better in low light conditions for my eyes.

Thought to go check one thing this morning and sighed. NF lists exit pupil of the 2-12x at 7.5mm at 2x, while Maven has the RS1.2 at 11.4mm at 2.5x. Was really hoping for more forgiveness there, not significantly less.

Watching failure? What is intriguing about the 2-12? Nothing good happens optically when you cram it all into a tiny compact tube. And what reticle is even halfway usable?

And like the nx8 2.5-20. It will be great for hunting and short to long range. And well suited for clip ons.

I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a mil-c-h. Just a mil c with 5mil on each branch….

They make a dang 4-32spf scope. It dosnt get more useless in terms of mag, focal plane and reticle than that.

Agreed. It’s not perfect but I’d by a 2-12 today if they offered a Mil-C.
