Think I'll just go with a VX5 gen 2. Better glass, zero lock. Hopefully better reliability.

That's a gambleHopefully better reliability.
Leupold doesn’t have a good track record with reliabilityThink I'll just go with a VX5 gen 2. Better glass, zero lock. Hopefully better reliability.
No excuses given, just a logical reasoning. Clearly Nightforce isn't hurting for $$. The guys at the top of most* companies care about 1 thing. $$You guys need to quit giving excuses- Rokslide drives a pretty large portion of multiple markets and companies admit it. NF and everyone else gets repeatedly asked or told to make reticles for hunting at every show.
The reason that companies aren’t making reticles that fit the actual need is 100% because the companies do not have people that make decisions that actually hunt. They might shoot a deer in a field, and they might go on a guided elk hunt or to Africa- but they don’t broad base hunt seriously. That’s it. That’s the whole answer.
I bet the 2x12 is a failure in F1.No excuses given, just a logical reasoning. Clearly Nightforce isn't hurting for $$. The guys at the top of most* companies care about 1 thing. $$
I won't buy one.I bet the 2x12 is a failure in F1.
last night you almost got me btw nice pictures ...I guess the embargo date and time don’t mean crap to people.
I don’t think Mil-C is as bad as it’s made out to be. Is it ideal? No, but I have killed critters near to far with it from offhand at 60 yards to way out there and it’s never been a limiting factor. It’s not the perfect hunting reticle by any means but I’m also not going to eat a tag because I’m using it.Everyone complains about NF reticles. I’ve been real happy with the Mil C reticle. I really like it But maybe I’m one of the few.
few of us wrote to get german 4 and they listen to us so i cant complaint ...
Still hunting, predator calling, pushing bush, we still do more than just ridge to ridge ambush hunting. 6x is good but another 3x either side of it even better. Doesn’t need to be much to max the versatility to cover ‘hunting’.Why ever shoot at 3x? I am not sure there are very many scenarios where 6x minimum wouldn't work. Half this forum worships the fixed 6x.
yes we are a few and they listen to us. this is for eu market as well.I have actually been asking NF for a 4a type reticle which is a good fit for a lot of my hunting which isn't beyond 400 yards.
cannot have everything lol but capped turrets will be good for my use ... and as the brochure informed us we can get turrets so now all is good for everybody ... now let s hear some or most complaining about the reticles lolDid you want it to come with capped turrets as well?
I’m a financial ops controller over a 300 million dollar line of business. What I can tell you with absolute certainty, because I’m in the meetings, is the attitude of senior leadership is, “I hear you, and I get it, but they are still gonna buy it at a price that turns a 12% EBIDTA and we’ve hit target for the last x number of quarters.” That’s where it dies, and rightfully so. Just look at how many different ideal hunting reticles have been proposed. It’s an un-winnable venture, so might as well stick with the recipe. Is it right? Maybe not. But it’s how it is. Could very well be wrong in the optics space, but that’s how it’s always been at every company I’ve ever worked for.You guys need to quit giving excuses- Rokslide drives a pretty large portion of multiple markets and companies admit it. NF and everyone else gets repeatedly asked or told to make reticles for hunting at every show.

I agree. It’s not the end of the world if you have one and it likely won’t cost you an animal. But it’s a bottom of the barrel FFP reticle for hunting.I don’t think Mil-C is as bad as it’s made out to be. Is it ideal? No, but I have killed critters near to far with it from offhand at 60 yards to way out there and it’s never been a limiting factor. It’s not the perfect hunting reticle by any means but I’m also not going to eat a tag because I’m using it.
I would also be happy with an F1 MIL-R option in the NX6 & NX8 lines. I find the MIL-R workable for hunting in the 4-16 ATACR F1.I see what you did there...
I would be punching in my credit card number if the 3-18x50 had Mil R and the reticle was big at low power and the digilum was green.
No thanks.
