Nightforce NX6 Lineup

One think im waiting to see if if they slimline the scopes, i have an nx8 but its so bulky i dont take it very much because a lot of the slip hunting i do the turrets snag on everthing.

Im also hoping the 3-18 has low profile turrets and a smaller overall frame compared to the nx8

Somehow I have a hard time believing they're going to cater anything to the hunting crowd. We'll see in a couple days, I guess.

The SHV line literally stands for Shooter, Hunter, Varmiter. It’s going away along with the NXS so I’d venture to guess they are being consolidated into something like the Trijicon Credo/Credo HX

Someone mentioned this earlier, I would like to see a 'baby ATACR 4-16x'. Essentially the same glass but w/ 30mm tube and ~25oz - if that's even possible...
That was me. If they went to 30mm format, they could easily hit 27. 25oz would need some titanium or maybe a switch to 7075 from 6061 so they could thin out the tube. It could be done, they would just have to be convinced of the demand.

You do realize there is a significant downside to packing hi zoom erectors into compact scope tubes?

I understand everything is a compromise but not having massive turrets that snag on everything would be epic.
I find the biggest downside with a lot of my hunting to the nx8 line is the bulkiness and im fingers crossed this is reduced.

I know someone out there is holding the spec sheet! Stop holding out on us. How about tube size or objective sizes? 2-12 a 42mm? 3-18 a 44mm? How about the 4-24? Anyone have any other info like capped windage (no brainer), locking turret (unlikely), or any other noteworthy innovation? FOV upgrades? We’re hungry for more.

Two more days.

What magnification and distance are you guys talking about for, "usable at low power"?
I frequently say this is something I want. It is for two reasons.

I mainly hunt in the east. Its relatively easy to find in a dedicated eastern woods scope. Thats not this scope though. Where I want it is in a rifle I’ll use for longer range practice and to bring west, but still want to be very comfortable at home. That means 2x-to a max of 3x magnification in use at home. And it means an extremely busy background that does a great job of hiding reticles.

Very bold outer stadia are ok for snap shooting. I do think its very helpful to have something eye-catching at the center and not just rely on the outer stadia, as theres a lot of wiggle room in between and Ive found it easy to have my eye drawn to one stadia or another, rather than to the center. Especially when one stadia is thicker or closer to center, as in some reticles. The other place I want this is in lower light when making a shot where you have to thread the needle thru a lot of very small twigs and whips. Not a snap shot, but often a walking or trotting target with intermittent visibility so you still have to be quick, but also precise.

I dont think its too tall an ask to have tapering outer stadia that come closer to center, and to have thicker inner stadia (like .08 or .1mil rather than .03 or .04mil), but leave only the very center with a much thinner line and a center dot or x thats visible only at higher x’s. I think that would accomplish both things and make for a much more versatile scope.
