NICE Frame Extension by Mystery Ranch

Doesn't the metcalf already have extended lifters? If so this seems redundant. That said... if the metcalf lifters are too short and u need this, can u remove the stock ones to save weight?

Thinking about getting lifter kit for my metcalf. What made you guys go with Onieros vs MR or vise versa?

I went OV because they were out first. That said, looking at the MR design, I think the OV lifter will be much more stable, is adjustable in height, and is cheaper. They also produce some other upgrades for the NICE frame that I find indispensable (namely the lumbar pad and "belt guides").

The MR version is slightly lighter weight though, and has the MR name brand behind it.

I did a write up on the OV LLP here:

I should mention again though for full disclosure, I am friends with the owner of OV. That said, I do think their LLP is truly a better product than the MR version.

I have not the funds to do so Sreekers. . . If someone wanted to do one though, I'd be happy to loan them my OV LLP to lay them out head to head as I won't be needing it for some time now.

Just curious if you guys have tried kifaru packs that already have load lifters? I have always loved the mystery ranch design and am curious with these new load lifters if I should give one a try.

Someone's finally thinking like I do. Make a daypack into a capable hauler instead of trying to force a hauler to be my daypack as well. But all this does is make an already heavy pack even heavier.

Mike (5miles) makes a good statement. The MR crewcab is an excellent day pack and capable hauler, just too heavy. The lifter extension helps but I would have preferred a proper sized frame to begin with. Mine now hangs on the wall.

I'm working on a comparison between the OV LLP and the MR NICE lift kit (original one they came out with a couple of months ago). I should have the review wrapped up soon. I'm trying both frame extensions with the crew cab, longbow, and Metcalf pack bags.

Yes the Metcalf does come with an internal extender, but as was said previously, if meat is placed between the bag and frame, the internal frame extension is useless. The internal frame extension for the Metcalf CAN be removed as well.
