In breaking news, the NHL is moving to make cross-checking to the back of the head (“Benning”) legal.Feels good to be a MN fan today!
3 years in a row to western conference finals for stars has to take a toll on a team. Look at Panthers after b2b cups and now Oilers after all those deep runs. That's a lot of intense hockey and later draft picks in a row.
I love the intensity of the playoffs but these cheap shots to the head gotta go. Totally fine with Trenin getting crushed, that's hockey. The league has to do something about the sticks/elbows to the heads.
Really wonder how much of the series was stars being depleted/worn out vs MN playing well. We'll find out against the Avs soon and their PP inexplicably sucks so we got that going for us.

I think these playoffs are pretty wide open, CO/MN is gonna be a hell of a series and the winner "should" represent the west in the cup, as long as they dont beat each other up so much that they get beat by a lesser team in the conference final. Eastern...Carolina looks great, but the way philly plays could be a sleeper series upset. Im still rooting for Buffalo to keep the cinderalla season going, big games tonight! I hope TB/MTL goes 7 just cause its been great games, but i think MTL is honestly playing the better hockey right now.
While a bunch of scoring is "fun" to watch...it was an absolute trash game as far as hockey goes. Wild's power play is a complete joke...their passing and unforced give aways were the cause of 3 or 4 of the goals. Never seen as bad of a team 10ft inside their own blue line. They did it against Dallas also but got lucky Dallas isn't the Avs. D-zone coverage is terrible and was also against Dallas. Makars goal 2nd? goal...is case in point with Boldy not going out to meet him and trying to play goalie from the top of the circles. Middleton is a complete liability, Spurgeon is a joke. Goaltending was terrible with terrible angle goals. Colorado got out of their zone WAY too easy and clean. What an effin boat race this wild/Avs game is. Dangles and snipes galore.
You’d think these teams would play a little tighter holy cats.
I always get a kick out of the big GC that roll into our little town to do commercial jobs. They act like they are still in Denver in a town of 3000 where every one knows every one for a couple hundred mile radius. They try to pit contractors against each other with out the understanding pretty much everyone talks and knows the dirty shit they try and pull. The hospital expansion is only 2 years behind.
Colorado will continue to play that fast breakout style until the Wild prove they can shut it down. I love the Wild but I don't see them winning this series without something drastic happening. When game 1 was 3-0 avs I texted my buddy "christ they are going to put up a touchdown tonight."While a bunch of scoring is "fun" to watch...it was an absolute trash game as far as hockey goes. These horse race games happen but Colorado got way too many odd man breaks. Did Colorado have stuff wrong with their game to...absolutely but Wild made zero adjustments that game to slow the game down. Not sure how many times Yesterday and in the Dallas series the just kept shooting into the defenders.
Im willing to bet there won't be another game like that this series but the Wild have issues.
I agree with that but confused how my complaint about GC got on the hockey threadColorado will continue to play that fast breakout style until the Wild prove they can shut it down. I don't think it is that clear since they split the regular season against them. Avs play fast break out hockey that is just the way it is. Getting out of their zone quick and clean is one thing but the wild let them into the zone way to easily and clean. However, the giveaways by the Wild and the times they had the chance to bottle them up they didn't. Yeah they jumped up 3-0 and you have to remember also the wild took a lead in the game and it was a 1 goal game with around 3 minutes left. I think the Wild played worse than the Avs did good if that makes sense. I think CO played how they play and Wild underperformed even though they put up 6 goals.Colorado will continue to play that fast breakout style until the Wild prove they can shut it down.
