NHL Playoffs posts

hey there fellow hosers. Just bumpin this thread to pump the tires of the Quinnesota Wild. Playin some exciting hockey. Going to hurt more when they get bounced in the 1st round this year than it has the last 15 years..

What team can beat the Avs in a 7 game series right now? None .. long way till playoffs, but they are the obvious cup favorites for a reason right now. 2 losses in regulation at this point in the season is pretty wild. .. but before we worry about all that, I just got my USA Olympic jersey, can't wait for that! Should be some incredible hockey, i do wish Russia could have a team, cause they have an incredible core of players right now as well.. but anyway.. go USA

The one nice thing about the Wings moving back to the eastern conference is we might someday see a Wings v Avs battle for the cup

Man that’s the beauty of the NHL. I’m not an old timer by any stretch but I’ve heard similar before March a lot of years and come playoffs that unstoppable regular season team gets smacked in the nuts!

Best professional sports league by far.

Yep I agree. Boston vs panthers..3 years ago, round 1 when Boston had the record setting season and got knocked out in 7 after being up 3-1. Best sport there is no doubt

At the end of the day, it is defense and goaltending that win Cups. The Avs and Stars are both great, but with the addition of Hughes to MNs blue-line, I honestly don't think there is a better D-core and goalie tandem in the league.

As for the Olympics, it is a three horse race. Sweden is in the conversation due to their D and goaltending. For Canada it is a double-edged sword. They won't get the advantage of being able to be outright rats (looking at you Marchand and Wilson) and with the ice surface being a bit smaller than expected, McDavid and Makar won't have as much room, but they will have the advantage of not having to deal with the USA's big boys being rats either (looking at you Tkachuk brothers) due to the IIHF rules being much stricter on fighting and rough stuff. I personally think it is the States' tourney to lose. Billy G is going to put a heavy, grinding, talented team on the ice and while I loved the Faber/Slavin combo during the 4-nations, Fabs and Hughes are going to have a lot of playing time together prior to Milan and while the samples size is still small, they look great together.

You nailed it. We order the NHL center ice package on Directv every year. We are huge St. Louis fans as we lived there for about 12 years, having season tickets for 8 of those I think. I checked a bucket list box off in 2019 when we went back there to see a couple of the cup games.

Enjoy Johnny Burgers, we were sad to see him go, but he wasn’t gonna crack the top 6 in Detroit. Maybe with a change of scenery he’ll be the next Bret Hull
