NHL Playoffs posts

I'm glad they changed the rules so they can assess the five minute penalty and then go back for a review and reduce it after the fact. Last time pavelski went down like that it cost my team their season.

Paul Maurice is the grim reaper - wet blanket - rain on the parade - of NHL coaches. Following all of that pre-season chatter about getting last year's President's Trophy winners "ready for playoff hockey," I'd be surprised if the Panthers take one from the Bruins.

That Wild and Stars game last night was awesome. So far its been a snooze fest tonight for 1st 2 games. Vegas/Jets is pretty good game so far. It will be interesting to see if Kraken can handle the AVs at all.

Hoping my Oilers don’t shit the bed again tonight as they did Monday. But in reality, they haven’t won a Game 1 of a series since 2017 so I’m not too worried.

Interesting notes from last night's four games:

1) Winning margin was at least 2 goals in each game.

2) All games were teams with 40+ wins playing teams with 50+ win. All teams with 50+ wins lost, some badly.

Go B's.

Best game of night IMO was the Avs/Kraken. I thought the Kraken looked damn good last night. Played with lots of speed and intensity and looked solid. Will be interesting to see if they can keep it up and hold off the Avs.

Chiclets was saying this MN v Dallas series would be boring. But for my money it's the best one so far.

No dog anymore in this fight as I'm a Blues fan, but the CO/Kraken game last night was very entertaining. I was quite amazed at Seattle's game plan to basically double team McKinnon every time he was on the ice. Quite brave, but successful. The Kraken played well end to end and Grubauer was stunning.

Not saying it’s all his fault, but I didn’t expect the Wild to win with Fluery in net tonight. I thought it would have been a bit closer.

Big time marc Andre fan. The hate he receives on twitter is absurd dudes a first ballot hall of famer and at the end of the day he’s gonna have better stats than Patrick freaking Roy who was my idol growing up.

Gonna be hard to win a game when you give up 3 break aways. All of which lead to goals.

I’ve played the game most of my life at a decently high level through college. Just went to the game when he was in pittsburgh. He’s really something to see in person even at 38

The flower is a for sure HOF and you definitely can't say last night was all his fault because the Wild didn't help him much. The stars scored on 2 break aways in which you hope your goalie can at least bail you out of one of them chances. The 6th goal he let in on a breakaway was horrible, typical flower flopping around trying to poke check and then stack the pads. 3rd goal was a weak 5 hole goal IMO.

I know they've rotated goalies all year and maybe Evanson was trying to protect the young GUS but a HOT goalie can propel a team to the finals and its hard for them to get hot when they are rotating. GUS has a better save percentage all year and just wish they'd pick one and roll with it. Last they went with flower until the series was basically over and then let talbot play and talbot was on fire going into the playoffs.

I've also played the game most of my life and i just don't think it's the right move to rotate goalies during the playoffs but i'm no NHL coach so what the h$ll do i know !

MAF made a bad decision trying to go for the poke check as soon as he started to throw it out the stars player recognized an slid it right under him. If MAF went into a normal butterfly he would of easily stopped it but he wanted the cool highlight real save. One of the goals he didn't even move, idk if he read it wrong and though it was going top shelf or if it was deflected. Granted the wild didn't really help him out that much but it was one of those games he needed to elevate his game a little to make up for the teams sloppiness and it just didn't happen. as a whole it wasn't a good game for the team.

ya idk why they wouldn't go back to the goalie who won them the first game but he might be slightly injured or something and wanted to give him more time to rest. MAF might be pulling a Fluery moment and playing well during the regular season then taking a dive during the playoffs.
