Been down every hole including these forums, lots of good info, lots of fanboy info, good and about the internet I suppose.

Either way Im down to NF or Trijicon, anybody own or use both.

Im down to the NX8 or ATACR, for the Trijicon Im looking at the Accupoint or Tenmile, looking at the 50 or 56mm reticle in either of them, light is important

Cost wise Accupoint is the cheapest the ATACR the most expensive.

Use is 300-800yds with some custom dial use.

NF has its following, but have read stay away from the 2.5-20 and have heard of the tunneling on them, and quite a few guys not happy with the glass, but that could be personal preference.

Also debating sfp vs ffp. I dial work some and want some range so ffp almost makes sense. However have a ffp on a sig tango and haven’t been thrilled with it, feel like it’s hard to see at low power and not worried about a bunch of hold over dots

I will say this all brands have their good and bad stories and opinion, but through all my travels ive yet to see one negative post on trijicon at this point.

I have an nx8 4-32 and a tenmile 3-18x50. The tenmile was less than half the price of the nx8 and overall I like it more. I do prefer the way the turret clicks feel on the nightforce

I have both of the scopes listed above and feel the same. I can't tell a difference in the glass between the two.

NXS, NX8, and the new Tenmile HX 5 x 25. The HX has at least equal glass to the nx8, way better eye box than the nx8 and the updated HX turret clicks are better.

FFP is vastly overrated for most hunting situations and has many significant drawbacks at practical and common hunting ranges. The reticles are often optimized for full power and long range and work poorly at lower powers and in low light.

I wanted to like the Trijicon Tenmile but the reticle was the death blow. Great at full power, but at 4-8X used a lot in hunting it was very bad and difficult to see quickly.

I’ve had the NF shv and currently have a tenmile. Love my tenmile. Shaves a few oz off the NF but is still very durable and tracks true every time. Havnt messed with the nx8 but they are supposed to be legit. With the consistency I’ve gotten from my tenmile I’m not switching. Running a SFP, call me old school but I still prefer it.

No experience with Trijicon. The NX8 is a great scope. I own 3 of them. Glass is good, tracks true, and holds zero. FFP vs SFP; each has its pros and cons. SFP is more versatile in a wide variety of terrain when it comes to hunting imo. Walk into any timber with a FFP scope on low power and you will understand. The reticle is impossible to see. I like FFP on my PRS guns but still use SFP on all my hunting rifles.

My buddy bought an NX8 and I bought a Tenmile. I've used both side by side and don't regret getting the Tenmile. We're both very happy with our purchases and neither of us is looking to change.

I was trying the Tenmile 3-18x44 with mil reticle. The scope has everything going for it, but the reticle just killed it. Mainly good for shooting at 8X+ on bright days.

For lower power the stadia does not extend to edges (why??) and the milling portion in the center is extremely difficult to see. You are left with this very large floating area between the thicker stadia and no solid references to the edge field of view for fast shots. To make it worse, the windage line is 10 mils across wasting heaps of space to make something thicker and more visible. Holding 10 mils of wind won't be happening outside of shooting in a tropical storm.

Thanks yeah that’s the tree that a lot guys don’t like. I’m looking at MOA with much simpler reticles

The credo hx 2.5-15 is a pretty great scope in sfp. If you want ffp, just go get the maven.

FFP is great when the reticle is done right, but it almost never is. Most people dial anymore, so vertical hashes aren't really needed and the christmas tree is so dumb, idk why it exists.
For wind most of the reticles are too small to be usable at lower magnification, but by golly they've got 30 mils of wind holdovers in case you're out there shooting your 338 in 100mph crosswinds. Because that's needed ALL the time, not stadia you can actually see at 6x.

I have a couple Trijicon 3-18 Tenmile’s, a couple 4-32 NX8’s, and a 4-16 Atacr. I have barely used the Atacr but it’s the best of the 3 to me. Next is the NX8. I’ll be getting rid of the Trij’s.

Does anybody know if the Tenmiles are even still in production? From all of the reading I've been doing across the forums I had kind of made my mind up to get one. Was actually waiting in hope they would gone on sale like last year but when I decided I would go ahead order me one, availability seems to be somewhat limited.
