Let's start with something we can all agree on... banning mylar balloons! I've never found a 1# propane cylinder while hunting. However, I've found many "matched sets" of mylar balloons!

So banning the sale of all those items that turn into garbage is the answer?
You could outlaw plastic bottles disposable coffee cups and plastic shopping bags across the country since we can’t depend on people clean up after themselves.

Definitely mylar balloons! I've lost count of how many I've found/seen while out in the woods.

As far as the disposable 1lb propane cylinders and the legislation, I get it... taking away individual's freedom of choice, more seemingly useless "feel good" legislation, etc. There are definitely more important things to focus on, more impactful things. It's one of those cliched low hanging fruit items that takes the focus off of addressing the root cause of many of the state's problems while looking like they're still "getting something done."

On the other side of the discussion, if you've not lived in that state in or near any one of the major population centers, it can be difficult to comprehend the population density and the amount of pollution and garbage crated there on a daily basis. Reusable/refillable anything there definitely makes sense. It's a shame that it has to be legislated.

we have to try but many prefer to do nothing and look the other way. 🤷‍♂️
Perhaps enforcement of already existing laws instead of more draconian laws is the answer.

But I guess propane canisters will go the way of gasoline small engines, vehicles, stoves, etc. Makes sense lol.

At least three companies make refillable cylinders, and it doesn’t take a math genius to compare the recycling costs to the cost of simply exchanging refillable cylinders. It’s not even a feel good environmental issue, but simple economics.
Well, I didn't realize they made (legal to transport)reusable 1lb. cylinders til today. I'll keep refilling my green ones with the $10 adapter, but If the reusable ones last longer they would be worth it. $5 for a disposable. $15 for a reusable. The disposables usually only last a couple of years before rusting up or swelling.
