Newb advise for elk hunting

Looking to make my first trip out west to hunt elk with a muzzleloader in Colorado. I’m trying to figure out if it would be best to go with an outfitter or to maybe use an outfitter for a drop camp or I know that it’s also possible to purchase landowner tags. This would be a possible once in a lifetime trip and I would love to be successful or at least see some elk however, I don’t have it unlimited budget. Any suggestions are welcome.

You'll likely be looking for a guided hunt that includes a landowner tag and it's not going to be cheap. Muzz tags are all a draw and you'll need to look up the draw stats and see what options you have if you're committed to muzz.
