What if a boat load of that money was put into conservation and other beneficial avenues? Would it be wrong to do it still?
I'm not even necessarily saying it's wrong in a moral sense, I'm saying it shouldn't be celebrated. When I see 86 monster bulls to a guys credit I think some rich dude probably needs to reprioritize some things in life, that is not what North American hunting is about, and is much closer to the attitude of the early Western hunters of the late 1800's who damn near killed everything out. People who make a living hunting all over the country and killing way more animals than they and their families could ever eat in a year are engaged in commercial hunting plain and simple and are antithetical to the North American Model.

I always think it's amusing when people are shocked that WA has quality animals. We have a lot of great habitat, but poor herd/predator/forest management and poorer opportunities.
that’s why it’s surprising it’s WA. You don’t have very many quality animals. Big elk every now and then but other than that…meh.

No hate, just the way it is. If it was a legal bull on legal tag good for him. He’ll get the record, but should at least get the conversation about the asterisk the same way Barry Bonds did.

Bonds is also by far the greatest to ever play the game, seems like a pretty good spot to be for this hunter.

Wow, since the guy is just such a nice guy, loves to hunt and has great passion, a suburban bull shot over bait should count as a WR

Great bull, I think everyone here would shoot it if given the opportunity, no doubt about that. But it shouldn’t be recognized as the WR IMO. Would anybody recognize a bass caught out of a tank at Bass Pro as a state or world record?

The bull lived in a neighborhood, in people's yards, it ate hay. This was neighborhood animal, the residents had named him "Chico".

the same 4 pictures and it’s had at least 5 different names I’ve seen on Facebook.

By the posts online yesterday, that bull went to most kids birthday parties and multiple Christmas parties before it got murdered in the parking lot of the piggly wigglys.

even his good friend and high end outfitter Jay Scott alludes to the fact this was not a back country grind.

What type of bait works best for 400" bulls?

Hay? (Alfalfa or grass)?
Corn?

Does he suggest any specific brand of bait that has a cool name like "bull coke" or "bull blitz" or "backyard monster"?

(just joking around, dont take this super serial)

I’m looking into this out of curiosity, but all I’m finding is that Jim Casey was a bachelor. He never was married or had kids from what I’m seeing. Where did you find that he’s a grandkid?
Just repeating crap I head online, maybe he is a great nephew. I do know that 70% of ups shares are still held by Casey family and employees. Not knocking his character at all. I bet he is an awesome dude. He just has wealth at another level, and if I was him I’d do the same thing and “ranch” and also hunt multiple gov tags and raffle tags every year

Same, same! I think the goal for most of us is to hunt those types of tags. Whether he’s made a bunch, or given a bunch, as an elk hunter he’s maximized it in my opinion. I’ve also never heard someone talk poorly about him that actually knows him. That goes a long ways today in my book.
