I always think it's amusing when people are shocked that WA has quality animals. We have a lot of great habitat, but poor herd/predator/forest management and poorer opportunities.

Dandy animal -- those Riven wooden bugles they use are legit too. Best sounding bugles I've ever heard in the field.

I heard it was paid access. I know the area the bull was taken in, some giants in there like that roadkill bull above.

Copy that, maybe I’m thinking of his last years bull in Idaho. Another giant. I thought I read on his son’s post it was public. Could be wrong.

There might be a little more involved than buying the tag. Most guys making the money comments on here would never have the stones to hunt a bull as hard as he did, and would shoot something much smaller. Give the guy some credit for his hunting skills.
Oh I'm not discounting the hunter at all. By all accounts the guy lives and breathes elk and clearly put the boots on the ground as well as had the right connections to make this happen. My comment was in response to the nearly impossible to draw a tag comment, sometimes you have to pay to play.

Congratulations to him for sure, just drawing a tag in Washington is like winning the lottery or buying one with lottery like money and that's for in state hunters. There are absolute monsters roaming the blue mountains, and the reason...very few get a crack at one. Washington almost has zero out of state hunting pressure as well. Strict hunting regulations.
